Description

Poplar Creek Public Library wants to document the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic at a local level. We are asking our patrons to help us record this historic time with photos, stories, and other documents. These items reflect the community Poplar Creek Public Library represents; chiefly, Streamwood and Hanover Park. Click on the "Contribute an item" tab above or this link if you would like to help build our collection and contribute to history. You must be the creator of the item in order to contribute it to our collection. Donations in any language are welcome.

ITEMS TO CONTRIBUTE:

  • Personal writings (limit 300 words) that record how the coronavirus pandemic has changed your daily life and your interactions with other members of the community
  • Photographs of the community's response to the pandemic, such as a store sign with updated procedures, gatherings following social distancing guidelines, and chalk drawings or other signs of neighborly support
  • Lesson plans or other resources for students that you created for virtual class instruction
  • Video clips showing drive-by birthday celebrations, teacher parades, etc.
  • Artwork, music, poetry, or stories that you created in response to the pandemic
